In an interview on the Iraqi Itijah News Channel, Khazali affirmed that information signify Erdogan intends to attack Shengal in the coming period, adding ” Turkey seeks to occupy Shenghal, Tal Afar, the Nineveh Plain and vast areas in Kirkuk”, indicating that the first step is going to be ”Shengal occupation”.

Khazali called on the Iraqi Prme Minister Mustafa Kadhimi to ” arm the military airspace system to stand up to the Turkish Occupation and to purchase an airspace from any country(…) to protect the sovereignty of the country”.
