After the control of areas of Northern and North-Eastern Syria by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the PKK branch, and with US support, the region’s oil wells attracted the attention of the United States and Israel. The PKK-affiliated armed goup, without the permission of the central government and illegally, has given all the authority to the Israeli company of Mordechai Kahana to sell and extract the region’s oil wells.
The letter was signed by Ilham Ahmed, a PKK commander and chairwoman of the executive committee of the Democratic Syrian Council in Northern Syria. The letter states that 125,000 barrels are currently produced per day, but there is also a production capacity of 400,000 barrels, with approximately $ 35 per barrel.
