High suicide rate in Iran’s border and Kurdish areas; due to unemployment

In an infographic, Etemad newspaper has analyzed the suicide statistics in Iran.

“Surveys show that the suicide rate in Iran is lower than the global average, and that it is more common in the western provinces of Iran, such as Ilam, Lorestan and Kermanshah,” the newspaper wrote. “Provinces that also have high unemployment rates.”

The interesting point is that the situation in Kurdistan province is yellow. This means that this province is also relatively critical in terms of economic situation and suicide.

Also, the data of “Etemad Online” show that the official index of misery (total unemployment rate and inflation) has reached 55.4% in the first six months of this year;

A figure that indicates the dire situation in all parts of Iran and shows an increase of 9.3% compared to the beginning of this year.

Based on these data, Hormozgan province is at the top of the misery ranking with 64.5%, followed by Kermanshah (64), Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari and North Khorasan (63), Khuzestan (62.5), Lorestan and Kurdistan (61). Kohgiluyeh, Boyer-Ahmad and Yazd (60) are among the provinces with high unemployment and inflation.
