“Disappeared” Iranian Kurdish children / Monira Mina from Khoy

According to the information received and verified by the Iranian Kurdistan Human Rights Watch, “Monira Mina” that carried the nom de guerre “Golchin Didar”, is an apparently deceased PJAK member, from Khoy.

According to this information, she was born in the city of Qotur, Khoy district, into a poor, rural family. Her father’s name was “Noureddin” and her mother’s name was “Zeineh”.

The child was deceived in 2011 by unconventional methods specific to militant groups and recruited by PKK and PJAK militants, and there has been no accurate information about her since then. Monira came from one of the rural regions close to the Turkish border, that was prone to visits from PJAK forces from time to time. Neighbors have reported hearing “screams of a young girl” at the time of her disappearance.

The watchdog is trying to get more information from her, which it will publish as soon as it is available for the information of the family and human rights activists. We also ask those who have any information about Monira Mina to contact us.

It is worth mentioning that she was allegedly killed on March 25, 2016 in Shengal, the Yezidi region of North-West Iraq, but there is no evidence to prove this claim and there is no news about the whereabouts of her remains.

Earlier, the Iranian Kurdistan Human Rights Watch issued a call, in which it asked all human rights organizations and associations to assist the initiative in order to better address this issue.
