Dozens of Kurdish mothers have been protesting in front of the office of the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) for about a year now, calling on the party to take the abducted children from the PKK and return them. These Kurdish mothers did not give up their sit-in even in the cold of winter and still continue to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Eid al-Qurban approached, the sit-in Kurdish mothers once again raised their voices in protest and called on the HDP. They wanted the party to return the kidnapped children from the PKK just as it helped the PKK to kidnap them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last automn, five Iranian Kurdish families also took part in this sit-in demanding the return of their abducted children by PJAK, a branch of the PKK. The abductees are between 12 and 16 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Human rights organizations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have repeatedly reported on the recruitment of child soldiers by the PKK and its branches, but the group continues to deceive and kidnap children as soldiers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
